Entrepreneurship Program

One of the benchmarks of a quality education children and youth being able to find a job or have the skills to start their own livelihood after completing formal education. Achieving this benchmark is a major challenge for education providers all over the world. Many young people do not find a job after completing school and unemployment rates amongst youth is increasing at an alarming rate. In Vietnam 43% of all unemployed people are youth.

Developing awareness of and creating opportunities for youth and social entrepreneurship, is one of the ways EFD aims to contribute to improving the quality of education provision to children and youth in Ho Chi Min City. This will be done by working with local social organisations to promote the following:

Develop and adjust curricula to include entrepreneurship training and skills development.

Support the training of trainers and teachers to ensure they are able to support possible youth and social entrepreneurs.

Promote setting up of small businesses and/or production facilities alongside educational institutions like VTCs or other social organisation willing to link their activities to the external market activities.

Providing life-skill training to youth to develop practical skills, promote entrepreneurship and create understanding of principles of open market.
