The project goal is to help the 60 diabled adolescents in HCMC gain job skills, work experience and in which 36 gain employment in the area of sewing in order to have a better life. In addition, by improving the training and production facilities the project assists Hy Vong Vocational Training Center to raise enough money for their annual operational costs (through sale of products produced in the Centre). In support of this project, EFD
• Provided funding to expand the building of the vocational training centre.
• Provided funding for necessary equipment to expand and improve the sewing classes.
• Provided funding for necessary equipment to improve the office and marketing activities.
• Provided funding for training on project management. In 2006, there were 29 new disabled students (8 male and 21 female) who have attended VT at Hy Vong center. 23 students who completed their training are working at Garment Companies or are self employed in HCMC. In 2006, Hy Vong Vocational Training Center managed to raise enough money for thier annual operational costs. |
